Crazy Little Thing Called Laughter

October 28, 2009

The tears start to form in my eyes uncontrollably as I wrap my hands around my belly trying to catch my breath from the laughs that just keep coming. I’m watching one of my favorite TV Shows and when the laughter has subsided I feel alive. I haven’t been feeling to well the last few days almost in a sense that I’ve felt like a lost puppy. Contemplating getting a day job to help me fuel my photography career with this little green thing called Money that makes the world go round, but then feeling like If I do this I am in some way giving up on my dreams even though I’m not, its just being home ALOT is kind of quite…well…BORING! There is only so much Supernanny and Cake Boss reruns I can stomach!

So as I’m trying to catch my breath and the feeling has hit me I realize that God has gifted us with something we take for granted everyday! Laughter is natures best medicine right there along with Love! In an instant you can feel sad or mad and if someone makes you laugh that emotion of sadness or anger is carried away like a leaf in the wind.

When I’m shooting an engagement or Wedding laughter is one of my favorite emotions to capture! It’s real and honest! They say the eyes are the window into the soul but I say look at someone when they are smiling and laughing and their eyes light up and for that instant they are so happy…I think right there in that moment you can see into the persons soul and who they are! I am just lucky enough to get to capture that emotion in time for the world to see and to hold for eternity! I can’t thank God enough for how truly lucky I am & hope to become!

Moving On Up

October 27, 2009

That is right folks! I’m moving on up to that deluxe apartment in the sky!

Recently we moved into a new house and during that process I took it upon myself to grab a whole room and designate it mine like a 5 year old does when someone grabs her precious Barbies!

“This room will be my office” I proclaimed happily and full of hope and continued to tell my much unamused husband of my plans of where I was going to put my new $300 imaginary desk and which wall I was going to paint pink and make my inspiration wall full of pictures from famous and great photographers like Jasmine Star, David Jay, Becker and Jessica Claire! Oh sweet, sweet dreams!

So you can imagine the laughter that ensued in my husbands belly when he saw my “desk”, previously our coffee table, and just couldn’t help himself from saying how humble of a desk it is.

Yes my loving and supportive husband woke me up from my beautiful dream and knocked me down a few pegs! Oh the love! Not only reminding me that my “office” is very disorganized and not yet up to my high standards, but also that I haven’t quite made it yet!

I leave you now with a picture of my humble desk and ask you for the sake of my feelings try not to laugh!

*Please note these pictures were taken on my crappy camera phone & not a representation of my photography skills* lol.

I think its absolutely beautiful and very well organized! We have to start somewhere, right? So why not start off by speaking what you want into the universe so that it may come back to you?!

April & Stephen Disney Destination Engagement

October 26, 2009

With Childlike Excitement they entered the gates of The “Happiest Place on Earth” which is filled daily with tourist from worlds afar yet despite all the noises of the rides and constant commotion when April & Steven look at each other they are the only two who walk these cobblestones streets.

As she apologized for her numerous kisses through out pictures I couldn’t help but smile because I know her soon-to-be husband Stephen didn’t mind nor that I ever even noticed due to the fact that from the way they leaned into each other, to the playful banter and the soft “I love you’s” everything about their love for one another was so natural.

After every picture a hopeful and happy “yea” was expressed and soon became the inside joke of the day. A lesson was learned in asking a Disney Princess to take a photo where she would have to do something other than look pretty. Hula Hooping and eating a Turkey Leg became a new sport and fun was theme of the day!
They were kind of couple every photographer hopes for. The couple who you don’t have to work to photograph as they define beauty, true love and friendship.

All day long I felt more like I was walking around Disney with two old friends rather then just being their Photographer and I can’t help but feel I was as lucky to have met April & Steven as they were to have found each other!
